The Mid-Cape Chorus will celebrate the joys of imagination at their Annual Benefit Concert held Sunday, May 26th at 5:00 PM at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Route 28, Harwichport. This year’s beneficiary will once again be The Family Pantry of Cape Cod. Last year’s performance raised $1800 for the organization!
The program entitled “FANCY THAT! SONGS of DREAMS and WHIMSY” will feature songs of hope, aspiration, and pure flights of imagination. Highlights will include John Lennon’s “Imagine," “The Impossible Dream” from Man of LaMancha, a medley from the fanciful hamlet “Brigadoon”, songs from the master of imagination himself Walt Disney, and much more. Guest performer, Reverend Mark Bruce, Associate Pastor at the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, accompanied by Dick Meyer, will add a 1960's flair to “Puff the Magic Dragon.” They will also lead the audience and chorus in “God Bless the USA ” as part of the annual tribute to our country and its heroes, rounding out this Memorial Day Weekend program. The ninety voice chorus conducted by Melodi Southworth will be joined by Art McManus on piano, Judy Yaldatel on string bass, and Ken Rogers on percussion. General admission tickets are available for $20.00 and can be purchased from chorus members or by calling 508-430-7136. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
