Hello,
Summer on the Cape is pretty spectacular by all accounts, unless you have to work 70 hours a week to make ends meet. Over 60% of our clients are families working two or more jobs in order to stay on Cape and raise their families. Others, like our friend Jack, is a senior member of the community who calls Cape Cod home.
This is Jack's story as told to one of our volunteers:
"With the high cost of food here on the Cape, and with Social Security as my only income, I would have difficulty in having enough food to eat. The Family Pantry has not only fulfilled that need, but also on occasion, has provided a needed piece of clothing. Everyone..... the volunteers, the staff are such nice people. It means so much to me to be received so warmly. Many know my name when I walk in the door. Sometimes I even get a hug. You thanked me for telling you how I feel about the Pantry. And I am thanking you because you are my friend....."
We hear these stories every day, from hairdressers to pharmacy techs, and we are honored to be able to meet the needs of anyone who visits the Family Pantry.
We appreciate all of the support you have shown us in the past, and hope your willingness to help can continue during our Summer Appeal.
All The Best,
Christine and The Family Pantry Team
